2024-2025年FAFSA更新

  • To apply for federal and institutional need-based student aid, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid form.  当你填写FAFSA时, colleges take your information and figure out if you qualify for loans, 工作研究, 和赠款. 
  • Marist will email official financial aid notifications in early April to 传入的学生 with a processed FAFSA and a valid Social Security Number on file. 
  • 返回的学生 should receive an email in early June once their 2024-2025 financial aid awards are ready to view via myMarist.

  • All FSA IDs should be created and fully verified prior to starting the 24-25 FAFSA.

什么在变化?

The maximum number of questions on the FAFSA will be reduced from 108 to 46. Because the FAFSA on the web is a dynamic form, some students will be presented with even less questions. 

从2024-25援助年度开始, anyone whose information is required on the FAFSA must use the IRS Direct Data Exchange to share tax information or confirm non-filing status. 

Financial information will be required for the parent(s) who provided the most financial support for the 2024-25 application.

在前几年的独立学生, the custodial parent required on the FAFSA was the parent the student lived with most during the 12 months prior to the FAFSA submission. 

A contributor refers to anyone who is required to provide information on a student’s application, 包括但不限于:家长, 步父, 或配偶. A student’s or parent’s answers on the FAFSA will determine which contributors (if any) will be required. 

Contributors will receive an email informing them they need to log in using their own Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID to provide the required information on the FAFSA.
 

Students will see a different measure of their ability to pay for college and will experience a change in the methodology used to determine aid in the 2024-25 award year. 

The 2024-25 FAFSA will ask how many household members are in college, but the answer will not be factored into the Student Aid Index (SAI). Students with siblings in college may therefore see a change in their federal aid eligibility. 

请注意: Marist will continue to consider the number of students in college for traditional undergraduates when determining eligibility for institutional grants. Eligible students must complete the FAFSA by our priority filing deadline, 3月15日是归国学生的日子.
 

Families must now report the net market value of their small business or family farm. These values were previously excluded for small family-owned businesses and farms with less than 100 employees. 

Pell Grant eligibility will link to family size and 联邦贫困水平. Students will receieve a maximum Federal Pell Grant if families make less than 175 percent and single parents make less than 225 percent of the 联邦贫困水平.
